What is Access? It is the ability to connect. Access is the force that makes all forms of interaction and exchange possible between people, businesses and nations. When Access to ideas, places, materials and technology increases, the result is greater opportunities for all involved. Jobs are created, productivity and prosperity rise, growth and innovation are spurred.
SRI International, an independent, nonprofit research firm that has been commissioned by FedEx to study and measure Access around the world, will lead an Issues In-Depth Call to help Net Impact members understand the concept of Access and how it spurs economic growth.
With findings from its recent study, SRI will share detailed insight on which countries have gained the most from improved Access to ideas, talent and resources. Participants will also learn how Access plays a powerful role in shaping the world and why it is a driving force of economic growth for countries at all income levels.
Net Impact is also running a special student essay contest addressing the question “Where will Access take us next?” To find out more, visit www.netimpact.org/access
