NIB Advisory Council convened

The Net Impact Boston Advisory Council allows our chapter to retain the institutional knowledge and involvement of members who have demonstrated service, commitment, and continued interest in NIB beyond an active leadership role.  The primary purpose of the Council is to provide guidance and counsel to Net Impact Boston on strategic issues.  We are happy to announce the following as members of this valuable group: Asheen Phansey, Holly Fowler and Rudy Ruggles.

Oct 2011: President’s Corner

writerLast week, Devon Long-Lytle and I had the privilege of meeting with a group of MBA students at the Hult International Business School in Cambridge.  Hult, a convening sponsor of the Net Impact conference, was interested in providing students with more information about Net Impact and learning of the benefits of organizing a chapter.  While I never bore of being an advocate of Net Impact, this group of ambitious and motivated students really fired me up.  The morning after our meeting we learned that there were 45 students committed to starting a Net Impact chapter at Hult.  The students were particularly excited to learn that over 10 Boston area B-Schools have active chapters with which they may network, socialize and partner.  Welcome to the community, Hult!

During September we wrapped up our call to leadership and are ready to announce our wonderful team in place for the 2011-2012 year.  Most of last year’s Board members have chosen to stay on, some continuing in role and others taking on broader responsibility.  We are very happy to have some new folks joining the team and bringing their energy, talent and fresh ideas to our great chapter.  Welcome to Clare Connelly and Maureen O’Brien (Events), Lotus Samuel and Nigel Gurnett (Professional Development), Barbara Seymour (Internal Communication) and Betsy Assoumou (Student Chapter Relations).  In addition, we are thrilled to announce that after months of development, we’ve put in place a Net Impact Boston Advisory Council of highly invested former Net Impact Boston leaders.  Please see the Announcements section for more information.

Hope to see some of you at the Conference in a few weeks!

Best,
Monica
