Sustainable Product Design 6/27/12

With 68% of the S&P 500 reporting to the Carbon Disclosure Project in 2011, corporate sustainability practices have become the new baseline, so companies are looking to sustainable design to advance their environmental leadership. The World Resources Institute is in the process of releasing new Scope 3 carbon emissions guidelines, including – for the first time – a more standardized way to measure product carbon footprint. Environmental Product Declarations, or industry-specific product environmental assessments (LCAs), are also gaining momentum. Measuring and reducing the impact of an organization’s products and services across the full product lifecycle is at the forefront of sustainability professionals’ conversations.

If you’re interested in sustainable product design, join us for a conversation at Dassault Systèmes on their new LEED Gold campus in Waltham. This event will be hosted by Asheen Phansey, Dassault Systèmes’ North American Sustainability Leader and Sustainability Product Manager for the 3DS SolidWorks brand.
