Ashoka’s Changemakers (where I work) and Green Mountain Coffee are hosting a networking and celebration event as part of the Revelation to Action competition and we’d love for you to join us.

The competition sought innovative solutions for strengthening communities in the Northeast and this is your chance to meet and mingle with the finalists, entrants, expert commentators, partners, panelists, and other changemakers who give grassroots organizing a good name.

Just wanted to share an opportunity to meet and mingle with Boston’s nonprofit and social enterprise communities. Ashoka’s Changemakers is hosting a TweetUp next Tuesday at Kingston Station where they’ll have free hors d’œuvres, a cash bar, and plenty of great conversation. On May 24 and 25, 2010, the second annual research conference on Conscious Capitalism will be held on the campus of Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts, on the outskirts of Boston. Building on the 2009 academic conference titled “Conceptualizing Conscious Capitalism,” this year’s gathering will further the understanding of what is known, review current teachings and further discover and uncover the complex and fascinating approach to business. A stellar group of practitioners and thought leaders has been assembled to inspire and challenge participants to think differently about business. Attendees will include a blend of executives, entrepreneurs, academics and doctoral students. The format is designed to be highly interactive and participatory.

Competition for Local Changemakers

I wanted to share an opportunity that I think will resonate with the Net Impact community. Ashoka’s Changemakers (where I work) is hosting a competition with Green Mountain Coffee for organizations and individuals in the Northeast who are making an innovative impact in their communities. All of the details are on the site but I’ll pull out some of the prize highlights just for fun:

- 3 competition winners will each be awarded USD $5,000
- 7 state winners will each be awarded USD $5,000
- 3 early entry prize winners will receive a Keurig® Coffee Brewer and a 12-month supply of coffee
- Recommend an organization and if it wins, your prize is a Keurig® Coffee Brewer and a 6-month supply of coffee
- Re-tweet about the competition and you will be eligible to enter a drawing for one bag of Green Mountain Coffee® and fun competition items
