Want to know more about NIB’s Happy Hour Consulting Challenge II “client” Cullen Schwarz and the company he co-founded, DoneGood? Read below and don’t forget to register, before joining us tonight: http://ow.ly/10AWEm!
Cullen Schwarz is cofounder and CEO of DoneGood, a Harvard Innovation Lab venture, working to help consumers find and support businesses with a positive social impact.
Prior to founding DoneGood, Cullen worked in Washington, D.C. as spokesman and press secretary for U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and as communications director for several Members of Congress. Cullen left his career in politics to start DoneGood in order to use his marketing and community organizing experience to help support the conscientious consumer movement and further empower people to create change through their purchases. Cullen grew up in a small town in Northern Michigan and currently resides in Somerville, MA.
More and more people want to support businesses doing good for people and the planet.
But finding those companies can be hard. The DoneGood app makes it easy to find businesses with a positive social impact. Enter the kind of product or service you’re looking for and select the values that matter to you (like “Green,” “Locally-sourced,” “Supports Workers,” and more). You can then instantly see businesses you can feel good about supporting.
The more people use DoneGood, the more we can support businesses doing the right thing—and encourage other companies to follow suit. Together we can create a marketplace in which businesses aren’t just competing to show they have a quality product at a low price, but also compete to show they’re doing the right thing for people and the planet. Together, we can change the way the world does business.
DoneGood is a Harvard Innovation Lab Venture Innovation Program team; winner at the Harvard Tech for Democracy competition, semi-finalists in the MIT 100K Launch competition, Fan Pick winner in Boston.com’s Uncommon Boston contest; finalist for Bostinno’s Tech Madness competition; and has been featured as StartHub’s “Startup of the Week.”
