Session Two (Design and Innovation): Tara Spalding

Tara headshotA proven fundraising executive with 20 years of development and marketing experience, Tara joined Horizons for Homeless Children in May of 2016 as Chief Development and Marketing Officer. She oversees a staff of ten, and works closely with the Horizons’ board, to raise more than $5 million annually. As Director of Development for Dedham Country Day School, Tara designed and implemented the school’s record-breaking $13.6 million THRIVE campaign while working closely with campaign and board leadership. Prior to that, she was a member of the senior management team during Harvard Law School’s $476 million Setting the Standard campaign, where she served in many roles including leadership gifts, alumni affairs, and annual giving. Tara is currently on the Alan Thayer Mudge Memorial Fund, and has served on the board of The Center for the Development of Children in Dover, MA. Tara received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Virginia. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and three daughters.
