Jacob joined NIB’s Board Fellows Committee in 2016. He comes to NIB with several years of experience advancing corporate sustainability leadership and influencing energy management programs and policies at the city and state level. Jacob is a manager on the corporate program at Ceres, where he assesses some of the world’s leading companies on their sustainability progress and performance. He previously helped run EDF’s Climate Corps fellowship program, which recruits, trains, and embeds graduate students into organizations to accelerate strategic sustainability projects. Prior to that, Jacob worked at the US Green Building Council (USGBC) coordinating education resources such as the LEED Reference Guides and LEED AP study guides. Jacob brings a wealth of expertise in project management, operations, and relationship management to NIB’s Board Fellows program and is excited to apply his professional insights and experiences to the Leadership Team.
In his spare time, Jacob volunteers as a mentor for New Sector Alliance, and he is building an app called CivicArena with the goal of making social and environmental advocacy easy and effective for people who want to get engaged on those issues. He is also an avid marathoner (both running and Netflix), rock climber, and outdoorsman. He was born and raised a Hoosier and holds a BS in environmental management from Indiana University.
