We hope that everyone has had a happy, enriching, and possibly more festive Pride than last year. In Boston both remote and in person, people were able to celebrate.
This month, Net Impact Boston's Racial Equity and Justice (REJ) Group had the opportunity to discuss the intersections of the LGBTQ+ community and race. Once again we were able to explore how we have learned certain histories and narratives, and reflect on whose histories remain excluded whether it is trans folks and/or communities of color. Seeing as this is the second pandemic Pride, another point the NIB community explored was COVIDs impact particularly on LGBT youth and homelessness.
HOW CAN YOU CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE PRIDE COMMUNITY?
Engaging with businesses is one way to make an impact and therefore we have highlighted some LGBTQ+ businesses.
