Serving as a Board Fellow for The Bridge at 211 this past year has been an incredible experience. I wanted to get involved in the local community through a mission-oriented nonprofit, and The Bridge at 211 was exactly what I was looking for! The opportunity provided by the Board Fellow program at NIB Boston not only allowed me to bring in and develop my own skillset into our organization, but also gave me the opportunity to learn about board service and gain leadership experience. The Bridge at 211 is an arts and culture center based in Salem, and it has been serving its community in a tremendous way—in the past as a Universalist Church since 1808, and now a historic space repurposed into a vibrant arts and culture center since 2015. Our organization is going through the phase of growth and change, and it has been an honor for me to witness it and to be part of it. I am thrilled to say that I’ve been given the honor to join the board after my one-year as a board fellow. I would definitely recommend people to apply to this program!
